The Foundation Society for Development (The Foundation) is delivering a project to establish a Regional Development Agency and an Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Hub in Raparin.

The Regional Development Agency will implement sustainable economic development and employment-related initiatives across the region.

Background

The Foundation is delivering a project to establish a Regional Development Agency and an Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Hub in Raparin.

The Regional Development Agency will implement sustainable economic development and employment-related initiatives across the region.

In this phase of the project the team will: 

  1. Set up the Regional Development Agency 
  2. Establish a Microcredit Finance Organisation. 
  3. Open a co-working Entrepreneurship and Enterprise space, 
  4. Undertake an analysis of wider activity across the region to inform and develop future strategies. 

 

Roles:

The Local Expert will provide technical expertise and contextual insight to strengthen education interventions. 

Specifically the role will support: 

  1. The evaluation of Business, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship education across Raparin (Role A) 
  2. The evaluation of Technical and Vocational education across Raparin (Role B) 
  3. The development of curriculum to support economic development in the region. 

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree or vocational equivalent qualification. 
  • Demonstrated professional experience in the development and delivery of business education (Role A) 
  • Demonstrated professional experience in Technical and Vocational Education (Role B) 
  • Strong understanding of the local businesses. 
  • Strong understanding of Raparin and Ranya. 
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outputs within tight timelines.

 

Desirable

  • Experience working on donor-funded projects or development programmes is an advantage.
  • Experience of working virtually with international experts is an advantage. 

 

Skills:

  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in Kurdish; proficiency in English to at least B2 level (IELTS 5 and above)
  • Analytical, writing, and reporting skills.
  • Availability to work on a part-time, short-term basis.
