Zainab Al Kufaishi

With over 20 years in investment, Zainab was previously Head of Middle East and Africa at Invesco Asset Management. Recognized by Forbes Middle East as a Power Businesswoman, she's a leader in ESG, diversity, and innovation. Zainab mentors female leaders and actively supports refugee inclusion, holding a BSc in Economics and multiple financial certifications.

Zainab was the Head of Middle East and Africa and Senior Executive Officer (Dubai branch) at Invesco Asset Management up until February 2023, and has been consulting and fund raising part time for various initiatives since then. She has over 20 years’ experience in the investment industry spanning roles in technical analysis, marketing, sales, and business strategy in London and Dubai. Prior to joining Invesco in 2009, Zainab was part of Fidelity International’s Middle East & UK Institutional Marketing and Sales team in London from 2005 – 2009. She is a passionate leader with a keen interest in coaching her team to thrive personally and professionally. 

Zainab is experienced in building out new markets and growing more mature ones, fostering deep relationships with her clients, and contributing to global business strategy for multinational firms. Zainab is a spokesperson for ESG and sustainability, adding to the conversation around the next phase of global growth. In 2021 and 2022, Zainab was recognised by Forbes Middle East as one of the Middle East's Power Businesswomen, and a winner of the Global Meets Local Award. 

Dedicated to greater diversity and inclusion, Zainab has volunteered her time extensively as a mentor both within Invesco and the industry to help guide the next generation of female leaders, serving on the Board of the Dubai Chapter of Ellevate and as a mentor within Reach Mentoring. She is also an Advisory Board Member to The Female Factor Middle East. 

Zainab has a keen interest in startup, venture and innovation in the Middle East, believing in the power of the private sector in emerging markets to generate economic prosperity for all. In 2022, Zainab served as a judge on the Middle East Women's Inventors and Innovators Awards, and is part of the Iraqi Angel Investor Network. 

Zainab is a passionate humanitarian especially in the area of refugees and migration, having volunteered her time in refugee camps in Greece and currently on the Advisory Boards of Irida Women’s Centre and CuriousIQ, two NGO’s dedicated to refugee inclusion within Greece. 
Zainab holds a BSc in Economics and International Studies from the University of Warwick, the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society UK, and the Certificate in Securities and Financial Derivatives. She is fluent in both Arabic and English.
